Working on Project Hail Mary gave me the opportunity to learn from leading professionals while developing specialist camera skills, from working with Marshall cameras to taking on responsibilities with cabling and radio signals. The experience gave me greater confidence and recognition within my department, and the relationships I built on set led directly to my next camera trainee role.
Addy S, DIT Trainee, Project Hail Mary -
I found future work both in the sustainability department I did my placement in on other productions, but I was also able to secure work in my desired department (locations) through the contacts I made whilst working on Citadel. The placement was also invaluable for giving me on set experience on a larger scale as until this I had only worked on student/small budget (under 10K) films.
Katie S, Sustainability Trainee, Citadel S2: -
Due to the nature of my placement being on a long-form production, I was able to make invaluable relationships on-set. Due to these bonds and friendships made, I was very liked by my Head of Department which led to him bringing me on into his next job the same week that we wrapped Masters of the Universe. This then snowballed into having a very grateful and busy rest of 2025 and of 2026 so far, as highlighted by my CV.
Viran B, Video Playback Trainee, Masters of the Universe
